i got a job

May 8, 2009

I was thinking about getting a job this summer so on Monday when i was in Pacsun buying a shirt the assistant was this really friendly girl so I asked her if they were hiring. She told me they’d be hiring for the summer soon, and i could fill in an application form. So I filled it in right there and handed it in. My dear friend Ben told me that whenever you’re applying for a job you should make any work experience you have seem really important, so I wrote down how i work at the restaurant and I used lots of big fancy words like ‘customer service’ and ‘work ethic’ on my application.

Well this afternoon my mom called me at lunch to say Pacsun called and said I could go down this afternoon to meet the manager, which i did. He was really cool, asked me about when I lived in Australia, and if I ever surfed. He asked me why I wanted to work for Pacsun and i said because it was my favorite store, and cos the people who worked there seemed nice and easy to work with. Then he asked me if I buy many clothes from Pacsun and I said ‘yes i have a few shirts and a couple of pairs of boardies’. He asked me if I ever use other Australian lingo, and i said ‘oh yah heaps, like I say pluggers, and sunnies, and singos’ … and he bascially said right then ‘dude, we have to get you working here’. So I’m doing a couple of trial shifts starting in June, and if that goes well I’ll be working this summer. Pretty sweet hey?

don’t be emo, its only chemo

May 3, 2009

I had the weirdest dream last night …. my friend Ryan got cancer, and we went to visit him in hospital. I made him a tshirt that said ‘DON’T BE EMO, IT’S ONLY CHEMO’ on it. He laughed at it, so we decided to make a bunch of the shirts and sell them at school for charity. Our principal tried to ban us, but by the end of the dream he came around to us.

It’s weird I thought of that in my dream, cos I actually did use the ‘emo / chemo’ line in class the other, when this girl was going on about how we’ve been messed about in math this semester (our teacher quit, and we’ve been getting a different sub each week). It sucks, and we’re going to be screwed next semester, but on the plus side we basically just sit in class and don’t do any work. Well this girl, Mia, kept going on about how it’s going to screw up her credits for next year, so finally I spoke up & said ‘jeez, I know people on chemo who aren’t as emo as you’. it doesn’t make sense, but pretty much everyone laughed. I probably heard it from somewhere else. When we were going to our next class Jordan told me Mia’s mom had chemo, but he was just kidding, the sick cunt.
